Wróćmy do tradycji - apel znanego wirtuoza parkietu

Oto dlaczego proszę, abyście się do mnie przyłączyli w jednomyślnym wołaniu: powróćmy do tradycji milongi, powróćmy do tanga, powróćmy do chodzenia

Dziękuję.

Wersja angielska

Today I would like to talk about the tango community, or better said, TO the tango community in the world. These days, we find ourselves facing the greatest challenge that tango has ever encountered. We are on the verge of banality, on the verge of losing the essence of tango, which is something that has happened to other dances already. I love tango. It is the only thing I know how to do; it is the only thing to which I dedicated every hour of my life since I was seven years of age. Today I am thirty one and I have lived in Italy for five years and I suffer, I suffer because of today’s situation, I see the codigos that I grew up with, being lost, I see that respect towards others is destroyed by egocentrism, I see the word MAESTRO being used by any clown, I see the great interpreters like Troilo and Pugliese being shunned because they are “difficult" to dance, I see the milonga has become a stage where everyone wants to be the star and is capable of anything just to be so. And this makes me suffer because I, along with so many tangueros, end up deciding to not attend or to attend less and less milongas because sometimes it all appears to be a lost battle. But then again, I feel I cannot allow this to happen because it would be like killing a fundamental part of my life. Tango needs to be respected, to be loved and to become familiar to us, to be studied, and to be analyzed and we have to understand once and for all that the TANGO is POPULAR CULTURE and its most noble expression is the MILONGA, the dance venue, that place where we socialize, where we become part of a community full of values, and for this to happen, we have to return to its roots. In the milonga, all that counts is the social dance. The shows and the stage exist for those that want to perform, but not at the milonga. In the milonga we WALK, we make the RONDA rotate. We need to understand the importance of respect, the importance of tradition and only then will you be able to understand that there is nothing more beautiful than to walk with elegance and rhythm. That is why I ask all of you to join me in an unanimous cry: LET'S RETURN TO THE TRADITIONS OF THE MILONGA, LET'S RETURN TO TANGO, LET'S RETURN TO THE WALK. Thank you,

GRACIAS
